Italian secondees from UNICAL had the chance to participate at MARBLE in Trieste in a week-long training on innovative approaches and underwater technologies.
The MARBLE project aims to establish a collaborative network of academic and business partners focused on maritime robotics. As the Lead Partner of the project, the University of Zagreb, in the means of Prof. Nikola Mišković, founder of H2O Robotics Ltd., provides the opportunity for the secondees to attend a training event in Trieste.
The training program primarily focuses on the implementation of innovative technologies in underwater environments, specifically aimed at enhancing competencies and skills in maritime robotics. Throughout the training week, participants attended lectures covering a wide range of topics, including computer vision, acoustic localization systems, and autonomous navigation in the underwater environment. The sessions provided an in-depth exploration of the current state-of-the-art solutions in the underwater context. Distinguished professors from various universities shared their expertise on these subjects. Moreover, the trainees had valuable opportunities to visit local facilities of renowned companies such as OGS, SAIPEM, FINCANTIERI, and others. These visits allowed them to gain a comprehensive understanding of the industry and establish connections between academia and the business sector. This exceptional opportunity aligns perfectly with the objectives of the TECTONIC project, enhancing the value of the seconder’s experience at the host institution and strengthening the partnership between the project’s collaborators.
