On March 4 the first field season in the Tectonic Project pilot site in Argentina (shipwreck of the schooner Emma) was successfully completed. It ended with a public presentation conducted by Eng. Fabio Bruno (Unical) and Dr Dolores Elkin (CONICET) at the Ecocentro Puerto Madryn co-organised with CENPAT, a regional Patagonian research branch of CONICET.
Back in Buenos Aires City, on March 7 two presentations were given by the representatives of the Soprintendenza per il Patrimonio Culturale Subacqueo of the Ministry of Culture. One was entitled “History and Legislation on Underwater Cultural Heritage in Italy“, by Dr. Gianluca Magri, and the other was “The Activities of the National Superintendence for the Underwater Cultural Heritage“. “Research on water systems in rural settlements”, by archaeologist Roberto Rotondo.
